Hibiscus Watermelon Tea

I love this refreshing, tart tea. It's such a welcoming change from my other herbal teas. Roselle hibiscus is packed with so many health benefits - be sure to do a google search on that.

Hibiscus is easy to grow. They do however take a lot of space. If that’s not something that works for you, you can order dried online or use the roselle hibiscus teabags.

Ingredients:

4 cups water

1/4 cup dried roselle hibiscus

4 cups watermelon juice

1/8 cup lime juice

1/8 - 1/4 maple syrup or honey

Boil 4 cups of water in a large pan. Add your dried hibiscus, cover and remove from the heat. Steep for 10 minutes, remove the dried plant.

Add maple syrup or honey and lime juice; stir until the sweetener is melted. Add the watermelon juice and stir until mixture is combined. Pour into a container. Refrigerate until chilled.

For the watermelon juice; I place chopped watermelon in a blender and mix until it's a puree. Pour through a strainer or a milk bag. Repeat this process until you have 4 cups of liquid.

* As with a lot of herbal plants, roselle hibiscus does have drug interactions. Be sure to check into those before consuming.
